A starter - which may be passed around with the first drink of the occasion or served at the same time as the main buffet. Starters might include different home-made breads flavoured with, say, cranberry and pecans topped with a truffled wild mushroom paté, falafels and slices of tomato with pesto. The main buffet - might consist of savoury items such as Quiche Niçoise, Spinach Pie with Feta Cheese and Pinenuts and Wild Mushroom and Cashew Nutroast. These will be accompanied by a range of salads, usually four or five depending upon the number of guests. Desserts - commonly provided are fruit salad, an alcoholic gateau with eight liqueurs, a white chocolate cheesecake (to die for) with a blueberry and creme de cassis topping and a blueberry and macadamia tart.
