What the day involves
I regularly pass on my knowledge of edible wild mushrooms at certain times of the year when the woods are abundant with fungus. This is usually in late April/early May and in the autumn - but I am also keeping these events going all through the year, (apart from festival time). Though wild food might be in short supply at some times, people are always guaranteed an interesting walk with good food and wine afterwards!
Walks in the woods last for about two hours and all the good edible mushrooms and other edible plants are collected.
Less desirable mushrooms and plants are identified and discussed.
The group, of ideally 4-8 people, then head for my garage to sort through and prepare the harvest which is then eaten with other dishes and excellent wines to accompany.
The prices for this day are available on request. Walks take place on Saturday afternoons and on Sundays. Walks on other days can be arranged.
I have built up a considerable cellar with wines from Alsace, Rhone wines, Chianti rufina and Sancerre/Pouilly and I am happy to discuss wines at any time, whether to accompany my meals or simply winetasting.
